B E L I E F S

I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Many people refer to us as the "Mormons"...probably because we have an additional book of scripture called The Book of Mormon, which is a companion to the Holy Bible and an additional testament of Jesus Christ.

I believe we have a Father in Heaven who knows us by name and loves us with a love so powerful that our mortal minds cannot even comprehend how much it abounds.

I believe that our Heavenly Father sent down His Only Begotten Son to show us the way of life here on this earth. Jesus Christ was born of a virgin and lived a perfect life, and then gave it all up for us, his brother and sisters, so that we may return to live with Him and our Father in Heaven again some day. He sacrificed for us, so that we can repent of our sins and be comforted by Him in our times of trial and sorrow. He felt every pain that we have ever felt, or ever will feel, so that He would know exactly what we would need to feel happiness and light again, through Him.

I believe that we have current prophets on our earth today, that leads and guides our church, just as Christ did thousands of years ago. Joseph Smith was a true prophet, who restored the proper Priesthood authority back into the hands of men on this earth in our day. Prophets are called of God and speak with him in order to receive direction for the latter-day saints. I also believe that each one of us has the power to communicate with God, in our own time, in our own way. Through prayer, I can receive my own revelations for my life and for my needs and desires. I know that He hears me and answers my prayers according to my obedience to His commandments.

I believe in the Plan of Salvation. I know where I came from, why we are here on earth, and where we are going after this life. I do not believe that marriage is "until death do you part", but instead, capable of being an eternal bound, through the proper authority of the Priesthood. I was sealed for time and all eternity in the temple to my husband, and after this life, we will return to the presence of our Heavenly Father and be able to grow together, as a couple, and with our future children.
